The Easter heatwave looks set to continue as Liverpool basks in the hottest day of the year so far.
Merseyside has enjoyed a largely dry and bright spring half term, but temperatures had failed to hit the low teens.
But, warmer temperatures hit just in time for the long four-day weekend as families ventured outdoors and hit Merseyside's many beaches.
Highs of 22°C were enjoyed by sunseekers as clear, blue skies kicked off the Bank Holiday .

And forecasters believe the summer temperatures are here to stay.

While things will turn cooler over night (7°C), Saturday will see more clear skies and and we could see highs of 23°C in Liverpool and Merseyside, a slight southernly breeze will make it feel around 19°C.
Barbecue weather will continue across the rest of the Easter break and well into next week.

The Met Office said: "Easter Sunday and Monday will be very warm, with plenty of sunshine. The sunshine could be hazy at times, especially on Tuesday, but it will stay warm."
Enjoy the sun and heat while it last, as will most heatwaves, they often end in thunderstorms.

The Met Office added: "There is a risk of thunderstorms from the south on Wednesday, with drier weather in the north. Temperatures could remain warmer than the seasonal average, and this is most likely in the south.

"Thereafter, for the remainder of April there is lower confidence in the forecast, but the weather will perhaps become more changeable and generally less warm.

"There will be a chance of showers or longer spells of rain and some periods of stronger winds, especially in the north and west.

"However, some drier, brighter and warmer interludes are still likely at times, these most probable across southern and southeastern parts, although overall, temperatures will still be close to average for late April.
"At times, there may be some marked variations in temperatures across the country though."
