EastEnders star shares major career news months after quitting BBC soap

EastEnders star Jaz Singh Deol has announced some huge career news almost one year after he departed his role on the BBC One soap.

The actor who was known for playing Kheerat Panessar left the soap in the back of a police car in November after taking the blame for the murder of Ranveer Gulati. Jaz, 34, left fans completely stunned as his unexpected exit aired as he was whisked away in the back of a police car.

But nine months on, he has revealed some exciting career news with his social media followers over the weekend as they flooded him with praise.

In view of his 52,000 Instagram followers, he shared: "I'm very excited to share with you all @theactorspath. Which is focused on sharing my ever-evolving insights, knowledge and experience of walking this particular journey. Especially as a person of colour in this industry.

"I've had and still have coaches who, without a shadow of a doubt, helped me thrive and define my career as it is today. And I believe now the time has come for me to do the same for others. Sometimes you need an outside eye to help you see the road ahead. His upload was soon flooded with praise while some fans called for him to make a return to EastEnders. "I love this!!!" said one. A second went on to type: Love this, thanks. Looking forward to learning more."

"PLEASE get back to EE. You were brilliant. Plus soooo fit," joked another. Before a fourth typed: "This is great... But get ya a**e back to Eastenders."

Jaz's news comes after bosses at the BBC soap confirmed that he wouldn't be returning to the Square any time soon, despite fans pleading for him to come back. It came as his character Kheerat was given a life sentence for confessing to the murder of Ranveer, although it was his mum Suki who actually killed the businessman as he attempted to sexually assault her.

During his time in custody and following his sentencing, Kheerat cut off his loved ones and girlfriend Stacey Slater leaving the food trader and his mum devastated at the thought of not having any interaction with him during his sentence.

However, his dad Nish Paneesar explained the family should get on with things as Kheerat had made his final decision.
