EastEnders star Letitia Dean reveals Sharon's heartache as Keanu left to die

EastEnders star Letitia Dean has revealed her character's heartbreak, as devastating scenes could see her lose a loved one.

Sharon Watts will be "distraught" next week when Keanu Taylor is found unconscious after a brutal attack, following a showdown with Ravi Panesar.

The incident leaves him fighting for his life, and Sharon has no idea whether her partner will live or die.

Sharon has experienced a lot of heartache in recent years, and could do so again this Christmas when a male character is seemingly murdered, and she's somehow involved.

But ahead of that, Sharon could be about to lose Keanu just as they get things back on track.

Speaking about the scenes, actress Letitia revealed Sharon's turmoil over the twist while she also hinted at the couple's future.

Letitia said: "She’s distraught. Sharon has lost so many people in her life so all of those emotions come flooding back. The possibility that her happiness might be ripped away again is crushing and she absolutely breaks at the sight of an unconscious Keanu."

Teasing something Sharon does in the fallout, she said: "I’m sure Sharon has many regrets in her life, but this isn’t one of them! She’s fiercely protective of her family and will stop at nothing to make sure they’re safe."

Letitia also discussed the couple's possible future, and said: "I’d like to think they can find a way forward after all of this. This isn’t the first stumbling block in their relationship, and I’m sure it won’t be the last!

"Sharon has just been faced with the possibility of losing Keanu so whatever anger she had towards him for the arrest has quickly turned into concern for his safety. They have a son together, and they really do love each other so I hope that will prevail."

On how the romance is going in Sharon's eyes, she added: "Keanu has really proved himself to Sharon since they got back together and the relationship is going from strength to strength, so when Keanu suggests they christen Albie and he insists he pays for it, even though she doesn’t need him to, it just reinforces to Sharon that he really wants to support their family."

EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
