EastEnders second return 'confirmed' as Rose Knight's true identity set to be exposed

EastEnders fans are convinced another character will make a shock return alongside Rose Knight.

There have been huge theories about who Rose Knight really is, with many guessing she is actually Cindy Beale, played by Michelle Collins. Some fans are convinced Cindy didn't really die, and actually ended up marrying George Knight and having two kids together.

Viewers are convinced Cindy could be in some sort of witness protection, which they believe explains why Rose is not on police databases, whilst George is only on the database for minor demeanours.

Taking to Twitter, fans rushed to share their theories that Cindy Beale was making her return - and Ian would be joining her too.

"I’m guessing Cindy “Rose Knight” is in witness protection. But why? And how does it tie in with Ian? How long has he known and why does he know? #Eastenders," one viewer penned, as another noted: "I’m guessing Cindy “Rose Knight” is in witness protection. But why? And how does it tie in with Ian? A third wrote on social media: "So with the promo of the rose coming back to life, Kathy wanting Ian back for the wedding, the Rose Knight story taking centre stage and now the early releases being scrapped on the episodes, I think we can safely say that we’re getting Ian and Cindy back this week. #EastEnders."

"Kathy wants Ian at the wedding. Rose Knight reveal in a week. This is real. They are doing this. OH. MY. GOD. #EastEnders," a fourth shared, as a fifth added: "IF Rose is "Cindy Beale" How will Ian link back into the story from the Knight's perspective? We know Ian returns - but was he on the phone to Cindy on the day of Dot's funeral and how will he return? #EastEnders."

Colin Salmon - who plays George Knight - has teased conflict and drama ahead as the revelations come to light.

"Conflict is drama, and drama is our business. It's complex! Life is complex, and there are so many things that can send people off on the wrong trajectory. I love the idea of exploring that in drama because the catalyst doesn't have to be some huge thing. It can just be a misunderstanding. It's more real like that. Being misunderstood is a nightmare for a straight shooter like George," he said.
