EastEnders legend June Brown 'returns' to soap as Dotty spirals out of control

It's been two years since EastEnders legend June Brown quit the BBC soap, leaving fans utterly devastated, but it looks like she could be making a big return to Albert Square.

Her mention in upcoming episodes will excite viewers, who will likely speculate that EastEnders is gearing up for her return.

June, 94, announced that she was leaving Walford in 2020 after 35 years of playing Dot Branning following her disappointment over storylines.

In the last year, the soap has seen a huge shake-up of its cast, with five stars announcing their departure including fan favourite Danny Dyer.

It comes as her character Dot's granddaughter Dotty continues to spiral out of control next week as Vinny prepares something for her belated surprise birthday party.

Later at the cafe, Patrick tells Dotty that they're all thinking of her Grandma Dot at this time but she doesn't want to hear it and storms out.

Dotty is clearly struggling during the anniversary of her father Nick's death and lays flowers outside No. 23 to remember him, with Sonia and Patrick watching on.

Late last year, Dotty discovered that Nick was not her biological father and that it was actually her 'uncle' Rocky, according to her mum.

Dotty appears later at the club after Vinny has set everything up for her and she accuses him of trying to embarrass her.

She becomes drunk and approaches Mitch, who picked up her flowers, and hurls abuse at him.

Rocky watches on and offers to help, but she stumbles away and he and Vinny are terrified when they discover her unconscious.

Will she be OK?

Elsewhere, Kheerat decides to try and catch Gray out by pretending to be dead Chantelle and troll her killer.

He creates a fake email account with her name and Gray's heart drops later when he receives an email from his late wife.

As the emails keep coming, Gray is forced to admit to Eve that someone is trolling him and he's determined to find out who it is.

When he heads off to bed, Gray receives another message and opens the door to a chilling discovery...
