EastEnders' Lacey Turner pregnant with ‘miracle’ second child after miscarriage agony

EastEnders star Lacey Turner has announced she's pregnant with her "miracle" second child after previously suffering two miscarriages.

The actress has confirmed she's expecting baby number two with her husband Matt Kay after it was revealed she's taking a break from EastEnders.

"We feel so lucky to be expecting our second baby, as it took so long and there was so much heartache getting Dusty here," shared Lacey, 32, in an interview with OK! magazine.

Lacey endured two miscarriages at seven weeks before welcoming her daughter in July last year.

Following her miscarriages, Lacey underwent tests to find out if there were any underlying medical issues and then went through a period of six months where she didn't get pregnant.

She then discovered she was expecting for a third time, with Dusty arriving safely in July 2019.

"We didn’t know if it was going to take years again so it was an amazing surprise,” said her barber husband Matt, also 32.

"When Lacey told me, I was so happy. Having Dusty was the best thing that ever happened to us, so to have another baby is only going to be amazing," he added.

Lacey said that she and Matt hadn't been trying for long and she was 'over the moon' when a pregnancy test confirmed her suspicions.

"We were lucky," said the Stacey Slater actress. "After last time, we learned the best way was to have the attitude of ‘if it happens it happens’ – and then it did! It was a lovely surprise. It took so long with Dusty, but now they’re coming along like buses! After the heartbreak we went through, it’s a miracle to fall pregnant so quickly.

"I didn’t know how long it would take and you worry you may suffer more heartache, but, thankfully, everything’s been fine. I don’t think pregnancy will ever be an exciting experience for me as I always have that worry in the back of my mind, but the further along I go in the pregnancy, the less I worry. Matt’s more positive than me."

Lacey described getting past the seven week mark as a 'huge relief' and said she is counting every milestone.

She is now 16 weeks along with her baby due in February.

Lacey and Matt both agreed they will leave finding out the gender until the birth and aren't bothered whether they have a boy or a girl, but said they'd like to have at least three in children in total.

Soap star Lacey revealed she was back on the set of EastEnders following her maternity leave for four weeks when she discovered she was pregnant again.

Last time, her co-star Natalie Cassidy guessed her happiness but Lacey decided to tell her best friends on set James Bye and Louisa Lytton her happy news this time.

Over the weekend it was reported that EastEnders had agreed to give Lacey an extended break from the BBC soap.

Her character Stacey is back on Albert Square with a bang this week after over a year away from Walford with revenge on her mind.

Martin's ex is not happy to discover he is now dating her best friend and she is ready to mae her feelings clear.
