EastEnders death confirmed as Whitney kills stalker Leo in bloody final showdown

EastEnders aired dramatic scenes on Friday, as a terrified Whitney Dean came face-to-face with her stalker Leo King for one final time.

The pair became embroiled in a horrifying deadly showdown, as he planned to exact his revenge.

After weeks of turmoil, Leo entered her room when she was home alone with a knife and prepared to hurt her.

Leo had arrived in Walford last summer, with it soon confirmed he was the secret son of Whitney's former stepfather and abuser Tony King.

He's always been convinced that Whitney lied about his dad being a paedophile, and that she was the reason he took his own life in prison.

She had no idea he'd been hiding in her attic for the past week, waiting to attack her - claiming it was justice for his dad.

But as Whitney got ready for the looming boat party, she was confronted in her bedroom by Leo.

He began telling her how he was going to kill her to get justice for Tony, raising the knife above his head.

As he went to charge at her with the blade, Whitney threw a jewellery box at his head and managed to get down the stairs.

He'd locked all the doors though, and Whitney was trapped in the kitchen when he tried to attack her again.

After grabbing her, she pushed him causing him to fall and hit his head on the table.

But just as she tried to call for help he got back up, before wielding the knife at her once more.

As they tussled on the floor, with Whitney fighting for her life, a twist saw her stab him in self-defence.

Whitney tried to wake him up but he lay dead on the floor, with his eyes wide open.

The episode came to an end before truly confirming Leo's fate, but it seems very clear the character has been killed off ahead of another shocking death next week.

No doubt the scenes will spark the beginning of a new plot for Whitney, after a traumatic few months for her in Walford.

EastEnders airs Mondays and Fridays at 8pm, and Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One.
