EastEnders' Alfie Moon pictured crashing Kat and Phil's wedding in dramatic return

EastEnders ' Kat Slater is set for the shock of her life when her ex Alfie Moon shows up on her wedding day to Phil Mitchell.

Brand new spoiler images show actors Jessie Wallace and Shane Richie as Kat and Alfie filming scenes off set, in what's set to be a very dramatic episode of the BBC soap.

Kat is seen dressed to the nines in a long-sleeved beaded wedding dress and huge diamanté earrings as she stands outside a church and prepares to say: "I do," to Phil (Steve McFadden).

However, she's left open-mouthed when she spots the father of her kids and is later seen sitting in a van with him as they have a heart-to-heart.

Another photo shows actress Jessie, 50, in between takes with her wedding dress covered in mud as she hoists the skirt up and walks along the gravel.

It's unsure just what will happen between her and Alfie, but one thing's for sure, her wedding day is certainly not going to run smoothly.

An insider told Daily Star Sunday : “Alfie makes a surprise appearance at the wedding and causes chaos. After Kat sees him, she jumps in the van even though it’s really dirty.

“It means her wedding dress gets completely ruined. Things get messy in every sense.”

It's even been teased that Kat won't even make it down the aisle as the insider added: “It looks like Phil will be stood up on his wedding day.”

Another image shows Phil dressed in a three-piece navy blue suit and a pale blue tie as he looks forlorn outside the North London church.

Someone else who appears to be heavily involved in the dramatic day is Phil's ex Sharon Watts.

Some snaps show Sharon (Letitia Dean) having tense words with Alfie by the side of his van, but will she be trying to convince him to leave? Or to try his best to win Kat back?

It's unsure how everyone else will play a part and how they will react to Alfie's return, but a lot of the cast were also pictured outside the church for filming.

Shona McGarty, who plays Whitney Dean, stood out from the crowd in a stunning bright blue suit which she paired with a white vest and wedges.

Kat's auntie Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) looked lovely in a blue and white floral dress and was seen having a conversation with Phil's son Ben.

She was joined by Big Mo (Laila Morse) who has returned to Walford for a brief stint after exiting the soap in 2021.

Another familia face is Sam Mitchell, who recently returned to Albert Square to spend time with her brother Phil.

In one shot, actor Steve and actress Kim Medcalf, who plays Sam, are seen enjoying a hot drink in between scenes as they take a walk together.

It's unsure how Sam will react if Kat does ditch her brother Phil on their big day, but Alfie's unexpected return is certainly going to stir up some emotions.

Actor Shane first joined EastEnders back in 2002 and stayed for three years, before departing and rejoining the cast in 2010.

He stayed until 2016 this time and endured plenty of ups and downs with Kat during this time.

Alfie then showed up again between 2018 and 2019 and has now decided to return to Walford once again.

Speaking to Daily Star Sunday, Shane, 58, said: "It’s an absolute honour and privilege to be asked back to my TV home."
