Staff and residents were absolutely delighted to meet the pair and hear all about their adventures in South America, Slovakia, Athens and many more.

The care home shared snaps of the special day which show the many residents beaming with joy while meeting Nala the stripy feline and East Lothian adventurer.

While on his travels Dean discovered the scruffy lost kitten near the border of Bosnia and although at first he didn't plan to keep her, the pair became inseparable.

After getting the injections and medical care required, the pair continued to travel the world and gained a massive fan base with followers from all over.

This led to the 32-year-old releasing a book about their travels and now shares an online blog of the pairs adventures.

The famous duo stopped by the care home for a visit yesterday and residents were beaming with excitement during the visit as they met Dean and his furry friend.

Rescued kitten Nala named after the character in one of his favourite childhood movies, “The Lion King" was the star of the show during the visit.
