East Kilbride teenager robbed of mobile phone by man wearing face mask

A 19-year-old has been left badly shaken after being mugged by a masked man in the early hours of this morning.

Police cordoned off Shields Road in Lindsayfield after the 5.30am attack as CID combed the scene.

The teen was walking alone near to the Moss Road junction when he was approached by the perpetrator who was wearing a blue PPE face mask.

He demanded his phone and personal items before fleeing the scene.

The victim was not injured but left shaken by the incident.

The suspect is described as a white, aged between 18 and 25 years, 5ft 10 ins in height and of thin build. He was wearing a grey hooded top, black jogging trousers and black trainers. 

He also had sunglasses on and a blue face mask.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has any information regarding the robbery to contact Cambuslang Police Office through 101 quoting incident number 0598 of 17th June 2020.
