East Kilbride's Lee Alexander makes Scotland Women's World Cup squad

Dreams came true today for Lee Alexander after she was confirmed in the Scotland squad for this summer's Women's World Cup.

The Glasgow City goalkeeper was named in Shelley Kerr's 23-woman squad for the finals in France, which take place between June 7 and July 7.

Last month Alexander won East Kilbride Sports Personality of the Year for exploits in guiding the Scots to their first-ever World Cup.

And, as the regular first-choice keeper, the former Calderglen High School pupil is in the line to face Phil Neville's England in Nice on June 9, followed by Japan in Rennes on June 14 and Argentina at the Parc de Princes in Paris on June 19.
