Earnings Preview: What To Expect From Procter & Gamble's Report

With a market cap of $370.2 billion, The Procter & Gamble Company (PG) is a global leader in branded consumer packaged goods, offering a wide range of products across five key segments: Beauty, Grooming, Health Care, Fabric & Home Care, and Baby, Feminine & Family Care. P&G markets its products through various retail and professional channels worldwide. PG is expected to announce its fiscal Q4 2025 results before the market opens on Tuesday, Jul. 29.

Ahead of this event, analysts expect the Cincinnati, Ohio-based company to report a profit of $1.43 per share, up 2.1% from $1.40 per share in the year-ago quarter. Procter & Gamble has met or surpassed Wall Street's earnings estimates in the last four quarters.

For fiscal 2025, analysts expect the world's largest consumer products maker to report an EPS of $6.78, an increase of 2.9% from $6.59 in fiscal 2024. In addition, EPS is projected to grow 3.5% year-over-year to $7.02 in fiscal 2026.

Despite meeting Wall Street expectations with a Q3 2025 profit of $1.54 per share, Procter & Gamble's shares fell 3.7% on Apr. 24 following a 2% year-over-year drop in net sales to $19.8 billion, worse than anticipated. P&G revised its fiscal 2025 core EPS guidance downward to a range of $6.72 to $6.82. Management also cautioned that newly imposed trade tariffs, including a steep 145% tariff on China-sourced inputs, are expected to increase annual costs by $1 billion to $1.5 billion. Additionally, a slowdown in U.S. consumer spending during February and March prompted the company to lower its fiscal 2025 net sales growth projection to flat.

Analysts' consensus view on Procter & Gamble’s stock is cautiously optimistic, with a "Moderate Buy" rating overall. Among 24 analysts covering the stock, 13 recommend "Strong Buy," three suggest "Moderate Buy," and eight advise "Hold." As of writing, the stock is trading below the average analyst price target of $175.91.
