Eamonn Holmes says ITV should provide transcript to prove Phillip Schofield's affair was investigated

Eamonn Holmes has weighed in yet again on the ongoing controversy surrounding his former colleague Phillip Schofield's affair with a younger male colleague whilst working at This Morning, as he has hit out at ITV.

The television presenter, 63, has not kept quiet since it emerged that the 61-year-old lied to those closest to him when quizzed about having an affair with a "much younger" colleague at This Morning with Eamonn hitting out at the broadcaster and Phil.

Phillip has since spoken out in a string of interviews where he has apologised for not speaking the truth and stressed that his decisions although "unwise" was not "illegal," and has stressed that the backlash to his decision is breaking him down mentally and physically.

And now, Eamonn has called on ITV bosses to provide a transcript to prove their claims that they carried out an investigation into the conduct of Phillip Schofield as he believes Phillip was never quizzed about the affair claims.

Phillip made an abrupt exit from This Morning after 21 years on the show presenting alongside his co-host and former friend Holly Willoughby before the news emerged and he lost a lot of respect from colleagues and those closest to whom he reportedly hid the affair from.

Commenting ahead of the evidence given today by Carolyn McCall, he told GB News: “I suppose some of the areas she has to reassure people is, what is she like as regards protecting those who are vulnerable and the disciplinary procedures? They use all the usual nonsense and rubbish that they talk about, but they have to investigate.

“When they investigated and they asked Schofield did you have an affair with this guy, which is what they didn't ask - I know exactly what they asked.

“And they then asked the young lad involved in all of this. They need a transcript of what actually took place that day because that was not a thorough investigation.”

Eamonn added: “He [Schofield] is totally discredited. He's admitted he's lied to his colleagues, to the Daily Mail, to his family, his agents, to everyone. And yet, people are deaf to this.

“People sit and go, ‘poor Philip, what's he going through? He's been bullied’. He's been this, he’s been that. The man has lied. He's admitted he's lied.

“And where do we go from here? Carolyn McCall, what did you do about it? Because she's woke sensitive…she's a very hands-on chief executive, but her hands are in all the wrong places it appears.”
