Eamonn Holmes gives fans 'soul destroying' health update as he remains off work

Eamonn Holmes has provided a "soul destroying" health update as fans rushed to send him sympathy.

The TV presenter took to social media following a round of physio after suffering a fall last month.

The GB News and former Sky News anchor has battled chronic pain for many years after being diagnosed with a problem with his pelvis and recently he's faced a few challenges.

Last month, he fell while he was recovering from surgery to give him relief from the discomfort after an MRI scan found his ongoing health battle resulted from him "mysteriously" dislocating his pelvis.

The 63-year-old was ordered to rest for at least eight weeks, and then received the sad news that his beloved mum, Josie, had died and he'd be unable to travel home to Northern Ireland because of the medical orders to stay put, as reported by Manchester Evening News.

And it seems things are not quite looking up for the star yet, as he provided his most recent health update.

He told fans: "Worked hard at my physio this morning. Very tiring but I've now sat on my backside for 5 hours and feel bad about doing nothing.....

"Lack of mobility & depending on others stops me doing really simple things. For peace of mind I feel another round of foot exercises coming on."

Followers replied with concern, with one saying: "I feel your pain I had 6 months of physio 2 hours a night 5 a week. I hated relying on folk..but the one thing was NO one will ever understand how awful Physio is and how exhausting," to which Eamonn confessed: "Relying is soul destroying."

One fan said to him: "Be gentle with yourself. And enjoy the rest. Hope you feel better soon."

Someone else replied: "Your excellent mentality will help the battle. Never keep the belfast lad down for long. Can’t wait to see you back on your feet and our screens in 2023."

"Stay strong Eammon, you are doing all you can despite everything. I am completely housebound and have disabilities that cannot improve but I feel positive for you. Happy & Healthy New Year," commented a fourth.

Eamonn found out recently after an MRI scan that his ongoing battle with chronic pain started when he dislocated his pelvis without knowing. In November, he went under the knife in a bid to ease the pain a bit, following years of discomfort. But around a fortnight after the operation, the star took a tumble and had to have a second surgery, which left him with a fractured shoulder and resulted in the eight-week period of bed rest in order to fully recover. But it was during this period Eamonn’s mum, Josie, tragically passed away, meaning he was unable to travel back home to Northern Ireland. Eamonn’s wife Ruth Langsford attended the funeral and he was forced to watch a live stream from home.

Earlier this week, the former This Morning host shared a picture of him out with pal and TV presenter Piers Morgan. Eamonn could be seen in a picture with two crutches.

He remains off work.
