Eamonn Holmes brands Phillip Schofield a 'coercive controller' in scathing This Morning attack

Eamonn Holmes has slammed Phillip Schofield in a second scathing rant after the former This Morning host denied toxic workplace claims.

The Irish broadcaster hit out at Phillip, 61, on social media after he confirmed that he had an 'unwise, but not illegal' affair with a younger male colleague at This Morning.

However, some followers felt Eamonn may have an agenda and responded to a tweet from Dan Wootton about an interview he is doing with Eamonn.

Dan tweeted: "Eamonn Holmes reveals the real story about Phillip Schofield, his young staff member lover, ITV ’s cover up and toxic This Morning in his ONLY interview."

In response, one user replied: "Does Eamonn have a new book out soon? Or bitter after being binned off This Morning for a younger crew?"

Not letting the comment go, Eamonn hit back and slammed his former colleague: "Just telling the truth in the face of a coercive controller."

Another viewer questioned: "So if you knew all about this, why did you just stand by all this time and do nothing? Just as complicit," to which Eamonn answered: "But I didn't know. I've never said I knew."

Eamonn later responded: "A lie unchallenged becomes the Truth ...... not on my watch it doesn't Pip. Tonight is for all my workmates over the years who were frightened and ignored by you and your controlling , coercive behaviour. All you who no one listened to. I'm here for you."

This comes after Phillip took to social media as former This Morning star Dr Ranj spoke about the "toxic work environment". Dr Ranj blasted This Morning after admitting he thought "long and hard" about opening up on his own experience as a contributor on the ITV programme.

However, Phillip responded; "Now I no longer work on this morning I am free to say this. I hope you have noticed that it’s the same handful of people with a grudge against me all the show who seem to have the loudest voice.

"This Morning is the best show to work on with the best people. In all the years I worked there, there was no toxicity.

"You can listen to those persistently loud voices if you like. But the thousands of guests over the years, thousands of staff and crew hundreds of presenters and contributors all now. It is a family of wonderful talented, kind hard-working people."

Eamonn wasted no time in hitting out at the statement and tweeted: "Schofield has just put out a delusional statement. Like Holly he puts it on Insta Stories so if it goes wrong there is no record after 24 hrs. I'm reluctant to give the liar any more publicity but believe me Pip if u r looking for a fight, u have picked on the wrong person!"
