Eagles WR DeSean Jackson to see a hand specialist after breaking his finger in practice

DeSean Jackson suffered a broken ringer finger during Eagles practice on Tuesday and the 4-6 prognosis on the injury has some around the NovaCare Complex concerned. Jackson wants to play through the injury and Tim McManus of ESPN.com is reporting that Jackson will see a hand specialist on Wednesday to figure out his options.

It was initially reported that Jackson’s break was minor and that he wouldn’t miss any time. Josina Anderson of ESPN.com is reporting that Jackson’s injury normally takes about a month to heal and that he’s hoping to be fitted with a special splint to determine his pain threshold while playing.

Even with the injury, Jackson is still expected to be in the starting lineup for the Eagles season opener against the Washington Redskins.
