PHILADELPHIA _ The Eagles finished the season with their second consecutive victory, a 27-13 win over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field, giving them a 7-9 record for the second straight season.
The Eagles were led by quarterback Carson Wentz, who went 27 of 43 for 245 yards and two touchdowns. His top target was tight end Zach Ertz, who finished with 13 catches for 139 yards and two touchdowns.
Ertz caught a touchdown at the end of the first half to tie the game at 10, and then gave the Eagles the lead with a 20-yard catch in the third quarter. The Eagles added a fourth-quarter field goal to take a seven-point lead.
The Cowboys played three quarterbacks: Dak Prescott, Tony Romo, and Mark Sanchez. Prescott started the game and went 4 for 8 for 37 yards and no touchdowns. Romo's first action of the season came in the second quarter, when he led the Cowboys on a touchdown drive. Romo connected with Terrance Williams for a 3-yard score before leaving the game.
He was relieved by Sanchez, a former Eagles quarterback who made Eagles linebacker Jordan Hicks one of his favorite targets. Hicks had two interceptions off Sanchez, giving the second-year linebacker five this season.
The Eagles blocked a punt late in the fourth quarter to set up a touchdown. Terrell Watson rushed for a late touchdown to seal the victory.
