Eagles’ training camp: How Philadelphia’s seven NFL draft picks are performing

The Eagles came away with seven talented players after the 2023 NFL draft, and the team received glowing grades from experts and analysts.

Philadelphia landed five total defenders and four real players in the trenches, landing Tyler Steen from Alabama in the second round.

The young guys are now fully entrenched in the program, and we’re looking at how each player has performed through six training camp practices.

Carter has displayed his strength, athleticism, and power for Eagles veterans to witness from Day 1.

Looking to add even more versatility to his bag, Carter has spent time working off the edge as a rusher as well.

Smith, the Eagles first-round pick (No. 30 overall), has been electric while showing off his speed, power, and versatility.

Steen, the Eagles’ third-round pick, is losing the camp battle to Cam Jurgens, but he’s an emerging talent and versatile enough to play multiple positions.

Sydney Brown

Brown plays with a high motor and has slowly ascended up the depth chart.  Brown could find a role in the Eagles’ three safety look early-on.

The fourth-round pick has started to make his presence felt during practice, and he could see more action with James Bradberry nursing a groin injury.

At 6-foot-2, 207 pounds is a huge cornerback and will continue to improve while learning from the NFL’s top duo.

Moro Ojomo

Ojomo has most of his action with the third team, but Eagles’ coaches like his versatility and non-stop motor.

Ojomo can play the interior or on the edge, and he’ll take advantage of game action during the next three weeks.

At worst, Ojomo will get plenty of knowledge on the practice squad.

Tanner McKee

McKee shines during the developmental portion of practice, and he’s outplayed Ian Book thus far.

The former Stanford star has a rocket arm and could separate himself during the preseason action.
