With the Eagles having moved on from Doug Pederson as head coach, Adam Schefter is reporting that Howie Roseman has requested permission to interview San Francisco 49ers star defensive coordinator, Robert Saleh.
The Eagles could be too late, with Saleh set to begin his second round of interviews with the Jets in person.
The Jets spoke with Saleh via zoom on Friday and now he’ll meet with GM Joe Douglas in person in Florham Park as the team narrows its own coaching search.
Saleh, 41, is a high energy defensive coordinator who helped transform the 49ers into one of the NFL’s top defensive units.
Saleh has also interviewed with the Lions, Jaguars, Falcons, and Chargers in addition to the Jets.
