Chris Long was a talented defensive end, but the 34-year-old former Virginia All American is an even better man. That’s why it’s with great sadness that the NFL says goodbye to one of the great ones. Long announced his retirement on Saturday, after being the No. 1 pick in the 2008 NFL Draft.
Long won back to back Super Bowls with the Patriots and Eagles and displayed amazing leadership during his tenure with the team. On Saturday night, the Eagles thanked Long for his service.
Long, the son of the legendary Howie Long will depart the NFL with 70.0 career sacks.
