Eagles have the 3rd-most salary cap space heading into 2020 NFL Draft

Howie Roseman was recently named one of the top-five general managers in the NFL and his ability to manipulate the salary cap is a major reason why.

Even after acquiring Darius Slay via trade and signing Javon Hargrave, the Eagles currently have the third-most salary cap space out of 32 NFL teams heading into the draft.

Approximately $9 million will be set aside to cover rookie wages, while Roseman will likely look to carry significant cap space into the 2020 season to use on extensions or possible trades.

According to Over The Cap, most of the Eagles salary cap is allocated on the offensive side of the ball, while the linebacker position is the least important, as the Birds’ current group of linebackers under contract have cap figures under $900,000, and their cap figures average $773,661.
