The Vikings and Eagles indirectly traded safeties this week.
Earlier this week, the Vikings claimed Andrew Sendejo off waivers after the Eagles released him. To make room for Sendejo, the Vikings released 2019 sixth-round pick Marcus Epps.
Who picked up Epps?
The Eagles, of course.
The Vikings were hoping to add Epps to their practice squad, but the Eagles swiped in and claimed him.
We’ll see what types of roles each player plays for their new teams.
For Epps, it seems as if special teams is the obvious answer. With Sendejo, it’s a move to add some depth with a player who is familiar with Mike Zimmer’s system.
