EA FC 26 Clubs: Why Drop-In Matches Are Viable Again and How to Make the Most of Them

It feels like it’s been forever since Drop-ins in EA FC Clubs have been worth playing. For the past few years, it seems that the best way to level up and progress in Clubs has been either playing league matches in created clubs, playing Rush games, or doing nothing in Volta (RIP). This has left Drop-ins as nothing more than a beginners-only mode, simply for new players to get a hang of Clubs and how it works. However, it seems that in EA FC 26, Drop-ins are finally a viable way to get your custom pro’s level up.

Because EA’s new monetization system stretches out the grind, you’ll need to spend more time on the mode than in past years to level up. Drop-ins are a quick way to keep progressing and build up your Archetype.

However, as any seasoned Clubs player knows, Drop-ins can be a bit of a rough experience depending on the teammates you’re matched with. So here’s how to make the most of your Drop-ins experience.

Despite Drop-ins now being a viable way to level up your pro in Clubs, it’s still a mixed bag in terms of what kind of experience you can have. In one game, you’ll be matched with players who don’t have much experience and are obviously out of their depth. In another, you may match up with decent players who are completely selfish and won’t pass the ball. So, how can you mitigate these potentially bad experiences?

Are you aware of the quote, “Be the change you want to see in the world?” That’s kind of the approach you need to have if you want success in Clubs. Right from kickoff, if you happen to get the ball at your feet, pass the ball to a player-controlled teammate. Doing so will often quell any kind of anxiety or trepidation they might have about your intentions.

It’s also important to remember that when it comes to progression, high match ratings award the most AXP. And high match ratings don’t only apply to players who net goals — oftentimes, you’ll be rewarded just as much for good passes, assists, winning tackles, and playing your position. For instance, if you’re using a Creator Archetype, then play in a deeper-lying position, ping passes around, and win challenges. If you can chip in with a goal on a late run, then you’re free to do so. But playing your position is far more rewarding than running around like a headless chicken in search of a goal that may or may not be in the cards.

In short, just play your best game and involve your teammates. Remember, you are all dependent upon each other to get the most out of the experience. And if you’re concerned only about your own personal stats, you’re almost surely destined to fail — you’ll find that you play much better when aiming for the win.
