E Jean Carroll receives over $5M in damages from Trump

E Jean Carroll Donald Trump

President Donald Trump paid E. Jean Carroll more than $5.6 million this week, fulfilling a jury's verdict.
The payment, totaling $5,625,005.48, was transferred on July 9, according to a court filing.
This sum covers damages and interest from a 2023 civil lawsuit where a jury found the president liable for sexually abusing and defaming Carroll.
A federal judge ordered the payment after the president exhausted his appeals, including a rejection from the Supreme Court.
Carroll also won an $83.3 million verdict in a separate 2024 defamation trial against the president, which he is currently appealing.
