People who are expecting to receive benefits payments over the upcoming Jubilee Bank Holiday weekend have been warned they will get their money on a different day than usual. The country is set to celebrate the 'once in a lifetime' platinum Jubilee with a bumper four-day Bank Holiday weekend.
As reported by Lincolnshire Live, this will result in anyone who normally gets paid their benefits on Thursday, June 2 and Friday, June 3 may see their payments arrive sooner next month. This is because benefits like Universal Credit are not usually paid on Bank Holidays or weekends.
If your payment dates fall on a normal working date either side of The Queen's Jubilee weekend, there will be no changes for you. However, if your payments are scheduled to arrive on a Bank Holiday date, you can expect your payments to appear slightly earlier than usual.
Changes to payments usually occur when a regular date falls on a Bank Holiday weekend. Next month, anyone expecting payments on June 2 or 3 will be paid on June 1 instead. You don't need to do anything if you are due to receive early payments, it will be deposited directly to you.
