Dutch international midfielder confirms Rangers transfer interest ahead of Bundesliga switch

Dutch international midfielder Guus Til says Rangers were interested in signing him before his move to Freiburg this summer.

The 22-year-old, who made his Netherlands debut in a match against Portugal in 2018, was a man in-demand this summer.

The midfielder started his career at AZ Alkmaar and joined Russian side Spartak Moscow in a £17million deal last summer.

However he struggled for form after making the move, and became available for loan this summer.

Til eventually joined Bundesliga side Freiburg, but admits there was also interest from Rangers.

He said: "I could also have gone to PSV Eindhoven, Feyenoord and Rangers, but I think the Bundesliga is the best of all competitions for me and I look forward to playing in it.

"I've heard from many people that Freiburg are a very family-run club and I'm happy to be a part of it.

"The pace is fast in the Bundesliga, it suits my style of play and I didn't have to think long about the offer."
