Dundee United young guns bringing Christmas cheer to local charity groups

Young Dundee United players have spread Christmas cheer to local charity groups.

The youngsters visited various groups around Perth for the second round of the club’s festive giveaway efforts.

The boys are all from DUFC Academy’s Leadership group and have already worked hard helping those less fortunate this year.

This week’s efforts follow on from food and board game donations to Dundee Foodbank and Dundee Bairns last week.

The boys - all former Letham players - donated board games to Jon Kidd at Letham4All, a charity which encourages and supports people in getting more involved with their local community.

Two players went above and beyond with their efforts.

Kobe' Mitchell collected and donated gifts to the Perth branch of the Saint Vincent de Paul charity and Liam Speirs raised over £200 for Children Hospices Across Scotland.

Head of Player Care, Niall Nicholson, helps run the player leadership group consisting of players across U11s-16s age groups.

He said: “The efforts from our player leadership group to support local charities in their communities has been outstanding.

“Thank you to all boys and parents for their contribution and we hope that the donations help those living in difficult circumstances during the festive period.”
