Dumfries Arnold Clark garages hit by company-wide cyber attack

Arnold Clark garages in Dumfries have been hit by a company-wide cyber attack.

Customers who were booked in for services and repairs have had their appointments cancelled this week due to the network issue which has impacted computer and telephone systems.

The car company runs two dealerships in the town, both on Annan Road, and it is unclear when the issue will be resolved.

The system issue started on Christmas Eve with the firm’s IT security team confirming that, so far, there is no evidence of customer data being leaked.

An Arnold Clark spokesperson said: “Over the Christmas weekend we have had a network issue which has affected our computer and telephone systems.

“Our IT team are in the process of rectifying this issue, and the good news is that our telephone systems will be operational tonight.

“Our IT security team have confirmed from their investigations to date that there is no evidence of any customer data being compromised.

“We would like to take this opportunity to thank our customers for their understanding and apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused.”
