More than 50 jobs are to be created across the region thanks to a new maintenance service.
Dumfries and Galloway Housing Partnership is launching an in-house neighbourhood environmental team in a bid to transform outdoor spaces in communities across the region.
And that will see the social housing landlord, part of Wheatley Group, employ 54 new people.
Nine of the roles will be modern apprenticeships.
The teams will take on a variety of work including grass cutting, moss and leaf clearances, tree cutting, flower bed planting and tackling fly-tipping.
DGHP managing director Matt Foreman said: “The new neighbourhood environmental teams will make a real difference to our communities right across Dumfries and Galloway.
“It’s a fantastic example of how we’re able to improve communities and create job and training opportunities for local people.
“If you can help us deliver outstanding customer service, have the relevant experience and take pride in your work, we’d like to hear from you.”
Full training will be given for the roles which include team leader posts, environmental operatives and also gardener positions.
