Dumbarton Harp fundraiser helps support West Dunbartonshire Community Foodshare

Footballers came together from across the Shire to raise funds for a lifeline local charity - and win local bragging rights - on Saturday.

Dumbarton East played host to Dumbarton Harp’s seven-a-side fundraising tournament, which supports West Dunbartonshire Community Foodshare.

Players each brought along a bag of food for the charity, which helps to feed thousands of people across the region.

The lively and competitive tournament saw teams from every corner of Dumbarton and the Vale clash, with plenty of local reputations on the line.

Amateur sides St Patrick’s FPs and Dumbarton AFC both sent along teams, whilst others represented areas including the Vale and Parkhall.

Work colleagues at Chivas also came together to play in the well-attended tournament, which boasted 16 teams across four groups.

Lennox photographer Colin Garvie captured all the action.
