- The Duchess of Kent's funeral will take place at Westminster Cathedral on 16 September, Buckingham Palace has announced.
- This will be the first Catholic funeral for a royal in modern British history.
- King Charles, the head of the Church of England, is confirmed to attend the service.
- The Duchess – the wife of the late Queen Elizabeth’s cousin the Duke of Kent – converted to Catholicism in 1994 and died aged 92 on Thursday.
- Following the requiem mass, her coffin will be taken for burial at the Royal Burial Ground at Frogmore, Windsor.
