Dublin woman 'speechless' after scooping €500,000 EuroMillions prize

The winner of Tuesday's huge EuroMillions plus jackpot was left speechless when she found out she had scooped the top prize in the plus draw.

The lucky Dublin lady was enjoying a cup of tea in National Lottery's HQ when she described the emotion of finding out she had a €500,000 ticket on her hands.

She recalls receiving a notification on her phone after she checked her ticket on the National Lottery app.

The winner - who wishes to remain anonymous - never thought in a million years that she would claim such a big amount.

Lucky Lotto punter scoops €243,959 in Wednesday's draw

She said: “I’m still in disbelief! When I checked the ticket on my phone, it told me that I had won a prize but I honestly assumed it would be a couple of thousand.

"I would never have even dared to dream that it would be a half a million euro.

She added: "I called the National Lottery the next day and once I heard what I had won, I was absolutely gobsmacked – I didn’t know what to do with myself."

The winning Quick Pick ticket was sold on the day of the draw (Tuesday 19 March) at the Circle K service station on the Beaumont Road in Dublin 9.

As you can imagine, she has some very big plans about what she's going to do with her new found fortune.

She said: “Having this amount of money is still very new to me so it will take some getting used to.

"Once the dust settles, I’m looking forward to telling my family about the win and of course I will be helping them out as much as I can."

She concluded: "I’ll have to treat myself too though, so I’ve already started looking at new cars - I can’t wait to trade in my old one for a newer model."
