Met Eireann is forecasting a five-day scorcher even pinpointing a day when temperatures in the capital will hit 25C.
But it's not all good news as they say thunderstorms and flooding will hit the country next week spoiling the summer's return.
Their long-range forecast shows temperatures of 22C+ all weekend long with Monday hitting that high mid-20 mark and Tuesday showing similar form.
Looking to today, it will be rather cloudy this morning with scattered outbreaks of rain, and possibly some thundery bursts, Met Eireann say.
It will become dry and sunny though with temperatures of 23C dropping to a very low 6C overnight but remaining dry, calm and mostly dry.
Here's how the next few days are looking:
Saturday "will be a dry day with warm spells of summer sunshine. Highest temperatures will range 18 to 22 degrees Celsius, warmest away from the east coast. Winds will be mostly light variable, but moderate northeasterly up along Irish Sea coasts".
OUTLOOK : "Staying warm until at least midweek next week. However, heavy spells of thundery rain will occur later Monday and for a time on Tuesday."
SUNDAY : "Dry and calm with warm spells of sunshine, however isolated heavy showers may occur later in the day. Top temperatures of 20 and 24 degrees Celsius."
MONDAY : "Starting out mostly dry with sunny spells, however outbreaks of rain will move into the south during the afternoon and gradually extend countrywide towards nightfall. Top temperatures of 19 to 25 degrees Celsius, warmest away from west and southwest coasts."
TUESDAY : "Overnight thundery rain will clear the north and northwest by around midday. Overall dry in turn for the day with warms spells of summer sunshine. Top temperatures will once again range 20 to 24 degrees Celsius, warmest over Leinster."
