Met Eireann are warning of a sudden and unusual change to hit the country this week as wintry conditions arrive in Ireland.
The National Forecaster are predicting that the weather will be unusually cold for this time of year with low temperatures set to last for the week.
Temperatures are expected to be below normal over the next few nights as we begin to feel the start of Winter.
Wednesday will see the dial dropping to as low as 1C with Tuesday only one degree better as the mercury heads towards freezing.
Today will be a cloudy and damp start with sunny spells and isolated showers to extend for the day with temperatures of 14C.
It will be a cold and breezy night with showers becoming widespread overnight and temps dipping to around 6C.
Here's how the rest of the week is looking:
Tomorrow : Fresh and breezy on Tuesday with sunny spells and passing showers. Highest temperatures of 11 to 14 degrees in fresh north or northeast winds.
Wednesday : "A few showers in the east and northeast on Wednesday but a good deal of dry and bright weather overall. Highest temperatures of 12 to 15 degrees in moderate northeast breezes. Turning cold overnight with long clear spells and some fog patches forming as winds fall light. Minimum temperatures of 1 to 4 degrees with a touch of frost."
Thursday : "A cold start with some frost and fog. It looks set to be a mainly dry day with sunny spells. Highest temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees with light northeast winds. Turning quite cold on Thursday night with clear spells and some fog patches. Frost forming in some sheltered parts. However, it will be cloudier in the southwest with some rain possible at the coast. Minimum temperatures of 2 to 5 degrees."
Friday : "Current indications suggest it will stay mainly dry on Friday with sunny spells and just a few isolated showers. Top temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees in moderate east winds."
Weekend : "Lots of uncertainty regarding the forecast for the weekend. Early indications suggest it will be breezy and showery."
