Met Eireann is predicting a 16C swing and a big change for the country after weeks of almost uninterrupted sunshine in Ireland.
Temperatures are set to hover around the mid-teens and drop to almost freezing temperatures in the night time.
There will be scattered falls of rain and drizzle at times over the weekend with things starting to look up again as we head into next week.
Battling upwards from 0C earlier this morning, it will be dry and sunny on Thursday but cloud may build at times.
It will feel milder with maximum temperatures ranging 12 to 16 degrees Celsius.

THURSDAY : "Dry with spells of sunshine, though a few light showers will affect the north of Ulster. After a cool start it will feel milder into the afternoon with maximum temperatures ranging 12 to 16 degrees Celsius, best values across Munster, all in light northeast breezes. Cold and clear after-dark with minimum temperatures ranging 1 to 5 degrees Celsius with some late season frost."
FRIDAY : "Continuing mainly dry, outside of well scattered showers across the north and northwest. The best of the sunshine will occur in the morning, but overall the afternoon and evening will bring cloudy skies. Maximum temperatures of 12 to 16 degrees Celsius, in light to moderate northwest breezes. Dry after-dark under broken cloud with minimum temperatures ranging a rather cold 2 to 5 degrees Celsius."
THIS WEEKEND : "A trend towards milder weather is signalled with temperatures widely reaching the mid-teens or higher later this weekend. Not fully dry however, with some scattered falls of rain and drizzle at times across Atlantic counties, and turning breezy on Sunday."
FURTHER OUTLOOK: "Very mild or warm. Some rainfall will affect the southern half of the country on Monday but beyond that it looks largely dry with hazy sunshine, and light south to southeast breezes."
