Dublin Fire Brigade honours victims and first responders of 9/11 attacks at ceremony

Dublin Fire Brigade honoured the victims and first responders of the 9/11 attacks at a ceremony earlier today.

The firefighters were invited to the 20th Anniversary memorial at the American Ambassador's residence.

Chief Fire Officer Dennis Keeley laid and U.S Chargé d'Affaires Alexandra McKnight laid a wreath at the 9/11 Memorial in the gardens.

Dublin Fire Brigade tweeted: "We were honoured to be invited to the @USEmbassyDublin 20th anniversary memorial of the #September11 attacks at the American Ambassador's residence this morning.

"Chief Fire Officer Dennis Keeley, with U.S. Chargé d'Affaires Alexandra McKnight laid a wreath at the 9/11 Memorial."

The U.S. Embassy thanked Dublin Fire Brigade for their attendance at the ceremony.

They said: "Today the Embassy marked the 20th anniversary of the #September11 attacks, in front of the 9/11 Memorial Monument at the US Ambassador's Residence.

"Thank you to our partner @DubFireBrigade #NeverForget

Dublin Airport will host a 9/11 20th anniversary mass in their church.

It will take place at 11am this Sunday, September 12th.

The mass will remember all those who lost their lives during the attacks 20 years ago.

The Airport Chaplain will celebrate mass and Dublin Airport Police Fire Service will be in attendance.
