Dublin delivery service StuffUNeed reveals the capital's favourite products during lockdown

Wings and Burgers top the polls as Dublin delivery service StuffUNeed reveals nearly 35,000 wings and 12,500 burgers were delivered to Irish homes during lockdown!

These tasty meal kits were washed down with Ireland’s favourite aperitif, Aperol Spritz, with over 11,000 cocktails served up at home.

Sebastien Conway, Co-founder of StuffUNeed.ie says, “Restaurant and cocktail kits have been hugely popular since we launched StuffUNeed.ie in March. During lockdown customers were keen to enjoy that restaurant experience in their homes, while honing their own cooking and cocktail skills and it looks like the trend is here to stay.

"Many consumers are naturally still nervous about going out to restaurants as the country gradually reopens, and some may not be able to dine out, so we definitely see a place for the meal kit trend to grow and thrive in the longer term. Featherblade, Box Burger and Wing It, amongst others, offer a high quality dining experience on your terms, and to suit your lifestyle, as well as really simple instructions to cook along at home.”

Conway continues, “We’re also seeing a major trend in aperitifs and cocktail making at home too. The highly Instagrammable Aperol Spritz is still hugely popular, and we also delivered nearly 1,000 cocktail kits, with gin proving the most popular spirit by far. Irish consumers were also keen to experience the new seltzer trend, with White Claw proving popular.”

But it’s not only restaurant and cocktail kits that consumers were interested in. On the grocery and ingredients side, the humble spud was the most popular vegetable delivered by StuffUNeed.ie during lockdown. Broccoli came in second and proved six times more popular than traditional cabbage, while peas were 15 times more popular than sweetcorn!

Strawberries topped the fruit bowl, followed by Bananas, while Avocado ranked joint third alongside Apples, highlighting Ireland’s ongoing love affair with the healthy and versatile brunch ingredient.

Established during Covid-19, StuffUNeed.ie brings together a wide range of quality brands, suppliers and producers in one place, offering convenience and quality delivered safely to your door at a time that suits you. The majority of products available on are sourced from local, reputable suppliers as close to home as possible, in order to support these businesses during a very difficult trading period.

The service currently caters to shoppers in the Greater Dublin area, as well as Celbridge, Maynooth and Leixlip, with delivery zones set to expand in the future.
