Dublin creche rocked by Covid cluster with parents left worried as letters sent

A north Dublin creche has confirmed multiple positive Covid-19 cases as an urgent letter was sent to parents.

Officials said that the latest positive test was "unrelated to previous cases" at the creche.

They added that the facility will continue to operate as normal for children who were not close contacts.

And any children and staff who were in the same "pod" as the positive test will be contacted by the HSE with advice on their next steps.

The letter sent to parents and guardians reads: "There was a notification late last night of a positive case of Covid-19.

"We have been working this morning with the HSE and the Department of Public Health and your child is not a close contact unless we have already discussed it with you.

"The positive case is unrelated to previous cases at the creche.

"The HSE has now taken over for the children and staff who were in the Pod where the person with the positive test was identified and they will supply all the professional advice to parents of that Pod on how to proceed.

"We will continue to work closely with them."
