One of the stops on the road to the NFL draft is the Senior Bowl. While many analysts focus on the practices, which NFL teams find very helpful as well, the game itself can provide information as well. How players play in real football situations against similar level of competition is a vital piece of information.
The game ended with the National team picking up the victory against the American team 20-10. While quarterbacks will always get the attention, with the top National guys showing pretty well, it was a defensive player that won the MVP award for the game.
Oklahoma defensive tackle Perrion Winfrey was impressive. He had two sacks, three tackles for loss while showing off his impressive skill set. Luke Easterling of Draft Wire had Winfrey as the third-best defensive tackle in the 2022 NFL draft behind DeMarvin Leal and Jordan Davis.
On his first sack of the Senior Bowl, Winfrey showed off his effort and long frame to pull down Sam Howell:

On his second sack, Winfrey got off the line quickly and used strong hands to put the guard and crush Bailey Zappe:

The Cleveland Browns have a significant need on their defensive line. The team could use more than one of their first four or five picks to address that unit, Winfrey’s Senior Bowl play is the kind of impact they are hoping to add to their defensive front in 2022.
