Drumsheds announces 'major' changes addressing queuing and adding a 'decompression area'

Drumsheds, the 15K capacity superclub in Tottenham’s old IKEA, has announced a number of major changes. These include increased search and entry lanes, doubling the the overall capacity of the queuing system, and the opening of the main room’s VIP area, and are based on feedback from clubgoers.

Non-safety-related changes are also being made, with Drumsheds committing to improving the sound quality in its main room, improving its toilet facilities and expanding its food and drink offering.

The club faced a licensing review in January following two drug deaths and a stabbing at the venue towards the end of 2024, and implemented various safety and security-related changes after the review.

On October 12, a 27-year-old man is believed to have died due to a drug-related issue in hospital after attending an event at Drumsheds.

And on December 7, a 29-year-old woman died in hospital after going to an event at the nightclub, which was later investigated as a drug-related death by the police.

Meanwhile, on November 16, a man was attacked with a weapon inside the venue and needed hospital treatment.

Drumsheds’ new plans outline more “chill out” areas for clubbers, with the venue vowing to make its former VIP area in the main room available to all clubbers. “Having somewhere to chill out is important because we all need a spot to decompress and catch our breath,” the club said in its Instagram post about the changes.

The venue has also promised to make getting around the club easier by adding more info points, signposting and information around set times.

The bar offering has also been expanded to include more “sober friendly” drinks, with the introduction of “Low & No Bars” throughout the venue.

Plus, the main room’s issues with sound are being resolved with the addition of acoustic draping and extra subwoofers.

Drumsheds have also promised to make entry and exit to the venue smoother. To help do so, they have relocated the ticket scanning location, increased search lanes and doubled the capacity of their queuing system.

“Evolution is at the heart of what Drumsheds does,” their Instagram post says. “Every season we listen, tweak and improve on what has come before.”
