Drugs cops swoop on Motherwell property in £180,000 cannabis raid

Cops seized cannabis worth more than £180,000 during a drugs raid at a property in Motherwell.

Officers recovered a large amount of the Class B drugs at around 6pm on Saturday after an operation in the Dalriada Crescent area.

The cannabis plants along with associated material found during the raid has been valued at over £180,000.

Currently no arrests have been made in connection with the recovery but police enquires are ongoing.

Sergeant Thomas Cairns said: “ Drugs misuse brings nothing but misery to our communities and I want to reassure the people of Lanarkshire that we will continue to use every tool and tactic at our disposal to remove illegal substances from the streets.

“These efforts have continued throughout the ongoing pandemic and offenders should not believe themselves to be beyond the reach of the law."

Police are encouraging anyone with information or concerns about drug misuse to contact them on 101 or report anonymously Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
