A separate post on social media by Cheshire Police revealed officers attended areas in Northwich and Wilmslow with one person being arrested.

The post read: "Officers have attended area's of Wilmslow and Northwich due to reports of street racing - Several drivers reported for road traffic offences and one person has been arrested following these reports."

Northwich Witton Councillor, Sam Naylor, said he is 'satisfied' that police are doing 'all they can' to tackle the issue.

He said: "I attended a meeting due to issues of anti-social behaviour where police, business representatives and council members attended.

"One of the issues raised was street car racing in local car parks and in the Moss Farm area.

"Police are aware of the incidents and have measures in place, after listening to them I am satisfied as a retired police officer that they're doing all they can to tackle it."

The force also appealed for footage or pictures of the event, asking people to let them know via the online reporting function and quote IML 1149233.
