Drivers parking at Giant's Causeway given warning after police car damaged

Drivers in tourist hotspots in Northern Ireland have been warned about parking after a police car was damaged.

Those heading to destinations like Giant's Causeway and the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge have been asked to take care when parking their vehicle after police issued several tickets yesterday, Sunday August 24.

Police on the Causeway Coast and Glens issued the warning on Facebook.

It said: "Police have issued a number of tickets today both at Carrick-a-rede Rope Bridge and the Giants Causeway.

"Vehicles were parked in a dangerous position at both locations causing an obstruction to other road users, as well as blocking access to local residents.

"As a result a police vehicle was also damaged due to the manner in which vehicles were parked.

"Folks, when visiting these attractions please be mindful of where you leave your vehicles!"

Giant's Causeway reopened to members of the public at the beginning of July and has since imposed social distancing measures.
