Drivers and buses divert as roadworks in Nottingham city centre cause week-long delays

Roadworks in Nottingham city centre are expected to cause delays for motorists throughout the week.

Work began to replace a defective chamber in a carriageway in Milton Street on Monday, February 14.

The work, carried out by Nottingham City Council, has resulted in the closure of the road between Upper Parliament Street and Shakespeare Street.

It has forced bus services to divert, with four Nottingham City Transport (NCT) services unable to serve Milton Street.

Motorists have been advised to divert via North Church Street, Burton Street and South Sherwood Street.

The disruption is expected to last until Friday, February 18, according to a city council road bulletin.

In a tweet, NCT said: "Pink 28, 30 and Orange 35, 36 are diverting in the city centre from start of service today until 18th February whilst part of Milton Street is resurfaced.

"Please use stops on Burton Street, alongside The Cornerhouse."
