Driver with no right hand ticketed for using phone in her right hand

Bodycam footage released in the United States shows a Florida sheriff’s deputy issuing a traffic citation to a woman accused of using a mobile phone while driving with her right hand, despite the fact that she does not have a right hand.

The incident took place in Palm Beach County in February. Video shows the officer approaching Kathleen Thomas and explaining that she had been stopped for allegedly texting while driving.

Thomas questioned the accusation and pointed out that she was unable to have been holding a phone in her right hand. According to CBS News, the deputy later requested that the citation be dismissed.

The footage has attracted widespread attention online, with viewers questioning how the mistake occurred and highlighting the importance of accuracy during traffic stops.
