Driver reported following police chase along M9 motorway

A driver has been been reported to the Procurator Fiscal after a police chase along the M9 towards Falkirk.

Officers had been watching a red Audi A4 which had joined the motorway from the Bannockburn Interchange in Stirling on Monday January, 10.

As they closed in, the man failed to stop, and sped off.

It forced cops to accelerate at over 100mph as they tried to catch up with him.

Taking to Facebook, they said: "About 17:50 hrs on Monday, 10th January, officers from Forth Valley Road Policing observed a Red Audi A4 join the Edinburgh bound M9 ahead of them, from Bannockburn Interchange.

"Driving conditions were challenging, with surface water and spray from rain causing poor visibility.

"The vehicle accelerated away from them and travelled at sustained high speed prior to being stopped.

"The image shows the speed displayed in the Police vehicle as the red car continued to accelerate away from them.

"The 32-year-old male driver has been reported for dangerous driving."
