Driver left perplexed by petrol station after filling up his car for under £4

Petrol prices might have reached an all-time high earlier this week - but one driver was left perplexed for a different reason after a visit to a Shell garage on Tuesday (26 October).

The price per litre was displaying as 14.9p, meaning the 26.29 litres he filled up with cost just £3.92, Kent Live reports.

This particular garage, near Margate, had the decimal point showing in the wrong place at the pump, undercharging drivers for fuel.

The blunder was shared in a Facebook group for Kent hauliers and drivers.

Other users have reacted to the post and rued their luck at missing out on the cheap offer.

"I filled up last night, I'm gutted," one person wrote.

"How nice would that be all the time," another said.

One person responded: "Should have kept that quiet!"

While another said: "On my way... from Edinburgh!"

People who have since visited the petrol garage to indicate that the price has since been corrected.
