Emergency services remain on scene after truck rolls near Bunnings

A truck driver has been treated in hospital after his B-double carrying sullage rolled off the road near the Bunnings Warehouse at Boolaroo yesterday afternoon.

Police and emergency services were called to the scene just before 2pm, where they found the driver trapped in his vehicle and suffering from head injuries.

He was freed after a short time, and treated by paramedics at the scene before he was taken to John Hunter Hospital understood to be in a serious but stable condition, according to a spokesperson for NSW Ambulance.

Police said the truck, which was travelling north, rolled while negotiating the roundabout on TC Frith Avenue and came to rest on its side.

Emergency Services remained on scene into the evening, as tow vehicles were called in to help clear the way. Drivers in the area have been advised to exercise caution and to allow extra time.
