Driver dies in Royal Adelaide Hospital days after crashing into tree at Paralowie

A man has died days after crashing into a tree at Paralowie in Adelaide's north — the 45th life lost on South Australia's roads this year. 

Police said the car crashed into a tree on Waterloo Corner Road just before 3:30pm last Friday.

A section of road near Halba Crescent was blocked for several hours while police investigated the scene.

The Elizabeth North man, 27, was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital with serious injuries but died on Wednesday. 

It was the second road related death in the state this week and the 45th this year. There had been 21 at the same time last year.

A motorcyclist died on Tuesday after a crash between a car and motorcycle on Main North Road at Salisbury Heights.
