Driver chucks drugs out his window before smashing into tree in police chase

Police have warned a driver they will see him soon after he left his phone behind following a pursuit in Bolton.

The driver of the Volkswagen Golf failed to stop for police in Breightmet today (Thursday, May 21).

He was pursued onto Goldril Avenue before allegedly throwing a “quantity of drugs” from his vehicle.

The driver eventually crashed into a tree and fled the scene on foot – forgetting to take his phone with him.

In a tweet, GMP Traffic said: “VW Golf sighted by #ME11 in Breightmet, failed to stop and was pursued onto Goldril Avenue, where the driver threw a quantity of drugs from the car, his luck ran out when he lost control and hit the tree.

“Car seized, enquiries ongoing. #WeHaveYourPhone #NiceProfilePicture #SeeYouSoon.”
